I’m so grateful I found Ellen at Tomoto Wedding Cafe for my wedding dress journey. From start to finish, she went above and beyond for me. I originally ordered my Enzoani dress with the previous owner in Ktown, but when Ellen took over the shop, she proactively reached out to me and worked incredibly hard to make sure my order was still fulfilled—personally following up with the dress company and even covering costs out of her own pocket to ensure I got my gown. Her dedication and integrity truly impressed me. Ellen is organized, communicative, and detail-oriented. She personally sent appointment reminders and made each fitting feel special and unrushed. What truly sets her apart is her exceptional talent in alterations. We made nearly 20 different changes—ranging from small tweaks to more involved adjustments—to make the dress absolutely perfect for me. Every single detail was executed flawlessly. She even made my custom veil and gave thoughtful feedback on all my accessories—just like a trusted bridesmaid would. I was so impressed with her work that I brought in my reception and after-party dresses too, and of course, she made them perfect. Ellen is kind and patient. She’s genuinely professional about her work, and it shows in every detail. She also offers a lovely selection of rental veils and bridal accessories, which made planning that much easier. Even though the store isn’t flashy on social media, don’t let that fool you—Ellen does it all herself, and her talent, professionalism, and honesty are what truly matter. She even worked through the holidays to make sure everything was ready in time for our destination wedding leaving on Dec 31, 2024. I feel so lucky to have worked with her. She turned what could have been a stressful process into one of the most joyful and memorable parts of my wedding journey. I truly can’t recommend her enough.
I am so glad I discovered Elen at Tomato Wedding. Ellen truly goes above and beyond to make sure your dresses are perfectly altered. I was in a rush and brought in four wedding dresses, and she was able to accommodate all my needs in a timely manner. She’s not only incredibly kind but also highly skilled—her alterations are always flawless. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
This shop has moved to Buena Park. Tomato Wedding was a business in Koreatown, but then Ellen's Sewing Cafe in Buena Park purchased the business. Ellen previously just did alterations. She really knows her stuff though. While I did not end up choosing a dress from here, I liked Ellen so much that I decided to do my alterations here even though Buena Park is like 45 mins away from me. They have a few racks of wedding dresses to try on for rental (or purchase) and there is ample room to change behind the curtain. They allow 2 guests to come with you. (I think simply because they just have 2 chairs lol.) I did not feel rushed at all. In fact, they kept pulling more and more dresses for me to try that they thought I would like/look good based on previous feedback. I definitely felt like I was the only customer that mattered compared to some of the busier K-Town spots. They even let you use a platform heel for height, veils if u want to try certain looks (available for rental/free with dress rental), jewelry, hair clips, etc. In the end I found another dress via my sister-in-law and thought Ellen was so nice had a good eye for look and alteration that I decided to bring my dress to her for alterations. It was super affordable too! We had an initial measuring day, a check in after those alterations were done, then I was able to try it on a last time when I picked up. I definitely recommend you check out Tomato! Also FYI it is in a mini mall with other shops, so they have a parking lot. I also recommend getting Atoyobu down the street for lunch!
Vivian and her daughter made my wedding dress shopping experience so much fun! I was so amazed by their beautiful selection of dresses and accessories. I ended up getting my dress, veil, and necklace at this location! The only downside was that my dress was too long at the front, which made walking difficult, and the bust was slightly too big. Other than that, I have no complaints and highly recommend any bride to shop for their wedding dress here :)
You are warned! Most unprofessional people of all time! If you want to pay, get tricked to hire the terrible video- and photo-grapher and then have your wedding video and photos ruined by these people, then please go to this place. The shop owner also comes up with million excuses to charge you extra for the dress after the wedding. If you want to know how bad the videographer is, let me tell you that he did not record the FIRST DANCE!!!! Completely unprofessional. By using tomato wedding, you are not saving money, you are throwing it away! You are warned.
