I haven't been to this place in years. The menu has been completely revamped and perhaps they're under new ownership. I remember Yamadaya being a little more traditional, but it's been modernized which isn't a bad thing. I'm excited to see what's new and different. The first thing I noticed was the sign outside is upside down. I thought it was a mistake until I saw the menu which I had to flip around a few times lol. I ordered the curry ramen with karrage and added a salad and gyoza. The ramen was pretty good but I would've liked to have the curry a bit thinner to compliment the ramen a little better. Perhaps some red pickles would go well with it too to help change up the texture. The curry rice has always been a standout and I think I would've preferred the rice instead of the ramen. The salad was spot on as always and the fried gyoza was great. The only issue I had was the dipping sauce which was provided was extremely salty. I had to go grab some vinegar to help cut it. My experience was positive and I'm looking forward to trying something different next time. UPDATE came back again today and tried the Tsukamen ramen, I really wasn't impressed with the broth which was too watery, the egg was overcooked and the chashu was sort of grilled and hard for some strange reason. I understand they are trying to update things but it just didn't work for me personally. The bright spot was the karage and salad combo add on. That could been a meal in itself with a bowl of rice on the side.
First time here and we had the Tonkotsu Shio Ramen, Yamadaya Bun and Tempura. Everything was tasty and service was quick. This nice little ramen shop has the feel and comfort of a ramen shop in Japan. The menu is extensive, you could easily order more than you can eat, but you want to try everything. There is limited parking, but there is a small lot nearby.
Listen… the level 3 spicy miso ramen here is IT. I add extra green onions and fresh garlic, and it’s basically therapy in a bowl. Rich broth, perfect heat, and that punch of fresh garlic? Chef’s kiss. Only downside—no alcohol. But don’t worry, the Hi & Dry bar is literally next door if you need to take the edge off (or keep the night going lol). Solid ramen spot I keep coming back to when I need that comforting kick.
I've only been to 5 or fewer ramen places so far, and this place is the best out of all of them. The broth and noodles were SO GOOD with their homemade chili. I ordered the R1 and Volcano. Also ordered hot green tea and it was matcha green tea. We were also given matcha ice cream as a small dessert for free. Such a kind gesture. I wanna come back and try the rest of their menu. 🥰🥰🥰
The serving sizes are huge! The food is DELICIOUS; cooked very professionally. The service is efficient and attentive. The seating area is small but if you bring a group of 7 there is a table you could all fit - just maybe call beforehand to see if there's a wait. We went around 7:30pm so there was no line, but I did see a waitlist outside - and menu stands - so I assume a wait can be normal. The interior is cute! First thing your met with is a big tree, in full blossom, coming out of the big table!
