People say this Korean restaurant serves high-quality, tender, and flavorful premium beef, including marinated galbi and short rib, and offers impressive set grill courses with multiple dishes. They also highlight the generous portions of fresh banchan and composed plates, and the attentive and professional service. Other reviews mention the food can be overpriced.

I always order the K-BBQ course here, and it never fails to satisfy. You can choose your preferred cuts of meat—the boneless short rib (kkotsal) and galbi are both delicious, but the beef tongue is my absolute favorite. The soybean paste stew and cold noodles at the end are also fantastic. With great service and top-notch food, I think this is the best local spot for hosting guests. Make sure to make a reservation, as it gets quite busy!

There aren’t many Korean restaurants that offer a true Han Jeong Sik experience, so we were excited to discover one in Buena Park, conveniently located near Knott’s Berry Farm. To celebrate my brother’s special birthday lunch, we chose Kyoung Bok Kung and decided on the VVIP Han Jeong Sik for four. From beginning to end, the service was excellent, especially from a young gentleman named Devin, who was warm, attentive, and proactive. Once he understood that this was a birthday celebration and what our expectations were, he went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. Each course was thoughtfully served in sequence, from appetizers to dessert tea, with clear explanations from the menu. The dishes paired beautifully with my brother’s favorite Kikusui sake, which elevated the entire dining experience. One small note is that a few of the side bites, such as the jeon and jjigae, were slightly on the salty side, and I was also hoping to see white kimchi (baek kimchi) included. That said, these were minor points in an otherwise wonderful meal. A truly touching moment came when Devin learned it was my brother’s birthday, he surprised us with a special plate of miyeok-guk, the traditional Korean birthday soup. It was an incredibly thoughtful gesture and a delightful surprise for all of us. Overall, this was a refined and memorable Han Jeong Sik experience. I hope that a restaurant with such a strong reputation and high-quality Korean cuisine continues striving for perfection and ongoing improvement.

Luxury, high-end Korean charcoal BBQ (at table) with set menus perfect for big group dining. Stylish and refined, the interior displays a modern update on traditional Korean — reminiscent of Seoul’s Gangnam District. Private dining rooms available. Highly attentive and professional service, perfect for assisting with grilling. Enjoy the top-quality beef bbq, with the Small Portion Cold Buckwheat Noodle (후식 물냉면) — an LA Koreatown tradition that made a reverse migration and became popular in the old country. Other highlights include Spicy Seasoned Skate Fish (홍어무침), perfect on heat and vinegar.

Great place to have authentic Korean cuisine. The standout here is the premium beef: cuts like marinated galbi and short rib are exceptionally tender, well-marbled, and deeply flavorful, easily rivaling or surpassing many popular Korean BBQ spots. The set grill courses are especially impressive, with multiple thoughtfully sequenced dishes that turn dinner into a full experience rather than just a single entree. Side dishes and accompaniments are generous and well-executed, with fresh banchan and composed plates that showcase classic Korean flavors in a more refined way than typical all-you-can-eat barbecue.

Came here for lunch without a reservation on a weekend. To start, I said we had 3 people without a reservation, and the lady working at the front desk just made a face and didn't reply (cool). Thankfully we were seated right away once another staff member came by to check seating arrangements, but I thought it was weird they didn't say anything like "one moment" or "please wait" etc., and just made a face at us lol. We ordered 3 different stews, and the assorted jeon set. They brought on bibimbap and I had to let them know that I didn't order that. The variety of side dishes and stew itself were really flavorful and I felt like they were worth the price. Making that many types of jeon is a lot of effort, so I think pricing is fair ($29). Pictures include the (1) pork kimchi jiggae, side dishes and (2) jeon. There was no attempt to check-in with us during the meal or to refill our water/tea. Perhaps service is better if you order bbq, as they grill it for you. I'd come back for the food though! TLDR: food and ambience is really good, but service felt mismatched if they're going for a fine dining vibe.
