Somehow we’ve been blessed to have this location near us, the only other one I know of is in k town Los Angeles, and in Korea itself. It is always always so consistently good and never fails to hit the spot. The chicken kalguksu is S tier , I love their fried mandu, and the kimchi is just as much the star as the kalguksu. People who know know this place is kalguksu goat. They’ve remodeled recently and the scary parking lot is less scary and not as dark which is nice. The Korean guy with curly hair provides the best service, always nice , always prompt. I’d poach him if I ever ran a restaurant!
One of the best parts of this visit was the service. The staff were very quick and friendly, which definitely deserves high praise. However, compared to before, the food portion and taste didn’t seem to improve. Since the broth was chicken-based, it had a slight chicken smell that I didn’t really enjoy. Also, the noodles were not handmade, and the extra $5 charge felt too expensive. After finishing the meal, the portion still felt a bit small, which was disappointing. In the end, restaurants that serve generous portions tend to do well, and I wish this place would consider that. At least they gave a small bowl of rice for free, which made me feel a little less hungry.
We normally eat regular Knife-cut Noodle but tried Hot Stone Bibimbab and Knife-cut Noodle in Anchovy Broth. The food was good and the service was excellent.
Honestly, I feel that Myeongdong Kyoja tastes a hundred times better here in the U.S. than at the original Seoul location. It’s so delicious that I could eat it every day! The service is excellent, everything is super clean and well-organized, and the food feels fresh and refined. I truly wish we had one in my neighborhood—that would be a dream come true.
This place is sooo good! We ordered the spicy noodle, which I think is number 12 on the menu, the pork and shrimp pork shrimp, and the beef galbi. We’ll definitely keep ordering these on future visits because they balance carbs and protein—there are lots of noodles but almost no protein besides half an egg. So if you’re a gym guy like me, that’s something to consider. One thing I want to call out is the kimchi—it’s sooooo fireeee! My family, who visited South Korea, said this kimchi is almost as good as the original kimchi there. Plus, this place isn’t crowded yet, unlike many other restaurants, so we didn’t have to wait. The price is also very affordable, around $20–30 per person.
