I have known Charlie the owner for many years and have always been impressed with his character. I too recently had service done and it was done professionally and expeditiously. Also, it was less than 1/2 of what the BMW dealer would have charged me. After they finished, he test drove the car and topped off the fluids no charge. As for the recent one star 🌟 review, sure things happen and no one is perfect, but that girl should have come right back to the shop instead of waiting and taking it to the dealer. AND she charged back the entire sale amount including PARTS! Fight on Charlie ✌️
Went there and had a fast diagnostic test and was given a great quote on the job. Car was return back to me faster then anticipated and service was great. Picked this place because the owner knew the issues and took it serious and made sure the car worked as expected. Great job Greta owner.
Honestly, I didn’t want to write this review, as he is an older Korean man who seems nice (for the most part). However, I was super disappointed in how he runs his business. He doesn’t take responsibility for his work — or lack thereof. I brought my Infiniti Q50 in for him to install my valve body (OEM part purchased by me directly from the dealership). He was to charge labor for removing and replacing the valve body, plus new transmission fluid and a fluid filter (gasket). When I picked up my car and drove away, I immediately noticed the RPMs were running high, even though I was only driving about 20 mph on local streets and wasn't driving smoothly. I called him the same day, moments after pick-up, and asked if he had finished the job and test-driven the car. He immediately said yes — that everything was finished, test-driven, and checked. I trusted his word and didn’t want to bother him further. I then called the Infiniti dealership to ask if it could be something else, like a calibration or relearn issue. They said it could be, but it could also be many other things, and suggested I drive the car for a few days to see if it improved. A day or two after Christmas, I couldn’t wait any longer, so I took my car directly to the dealership. They told me my car had low transmission fluid and no other issue. No other issue, no leaks, nothing. Literally the one other thing Charlie was entrusted with taking care of. They topped off half a gallon of missing transmission fluid, and once I got my car back, it drove perfectly fine. I also learned that Infiniti Q50s are sensitive to low transmission fluid, and that it can cause further damage. So all this to say — if Charlie and his team had simply finished the job correctly and taken the time to ensure everything was done according to the specs of my car, this wouldn’t have happened. His response was, “If you needed more transmission fluid, why didn’t you just come back and I could fill it for you?” WHY or HOW would I know what the issue was when you told me the job was finished, checked, and test-driven? I trusted him, his “specialty,” and his “years of experience.” I didn’t question his work, which is why I went to the dealership thinking it was something else. And why would I want to go to the dealership? You think I have nothing better to do? NO ONE wants to go to the dealership. That’s actually why I came to him in the first place — to avoid going there. This just feels like a rookie mistake. He’s not thorough with his work, and he won’t take ownership or responsibility for it. My dad has been in the car industry for over 35 years and said this mistake was embarrassing and should have been caught. I’m writing this review just so you’re aware. They say, “you get what you pay for,” and I think this is definitely one of those cases. Only come here if you know exactly what you’re doing, because he seems to rely on you to catch things he didn’t. He’ll probably try to counter this review with whatever excuses he has and say that he test-drove the car and didn’t find any issues. However, there clearly was an issue. Normally this would be a “my word against his” situation, but in this case, the dealership invoice shows his work was incomplete — which speaks for itself.
Charlie @ Hollywood Transmission is Excellent! I had my GMC Denali Transmission rebuilt and its driving like a new car! I highly recommend Hollywood Transmission; they are so professional and reasonable priced!
Charlie and his crew do great work at a good price. They repaired my transmission but it was still making a noise so Charlie fixed it and only charged me for the additional parts. Overall saving me around 2k.
