On January 24, 2026, my vehicle, a 2009 Nissan Rogue, was involved in a T-bone collision while it was in the custody and control of Highway Transmission. The vehicle was at the shop for follow-up work related to a prior transmission rebuild. I was informed earlier that day, at approximately 11:30 a.m., that the vehicle was ready for pick-up. The collision occurred around 12:30 p.m., approximately twenty minutes away from the shop near downtown Los Angeles. Given the distance, location, and timing, the extent of the vehicle’s use was unreasonable and inconsistent with a routine diagnostic drive associated with transmission work. When I arrived at the shop around 2:00 p.m., another customer informed me they had been waiting approximately thirty minutes because Tom was out driving a vehicle, which was later confirmed to be my car. At the time of the collision, the vehicle was being operated by Tom’s employee, not by Tom himself. Although the collision itself was caused by an uninsured third-party driver, the accident occurred while the vehicle was under the care, custody, and control of Highway Transmission. Following the accident, and despite explicit written instructions from me that the matter was to be handled through insurance and that the vehicle was not to be moved or repaired without my consent, Tom released the vehicle to a third-party body shop. I did not authorize the release, was not informed of when the vehicle was transferred, who transported it, or the condition of the vehicle at the time of transfer. I later learned — not from Tom, but from Tom’s insurance carrier — that my vehicle was already being repaired and that the repairs were nearly complete. When I asked Tom for basic information about the body shop to which he sent my vehicle, including its identity and location, he was unable to provide that information and stated only that he “didn’t know.” As a result of Tom’s unilateral actions, I am now unable to obtain basic information regarding my own vehicle, including repair documentation and estimates, and have been excluded from the process entirely despite being the registered owner.

Don’t go to this place they built your transmission using your same parts but they charge you like they change them. all they do is clean them grind them down and put it back together literally ripping you off. And they been in business so many years so they know how to built a transmission that will last you till your warranty is over mines lasted exactly 1 year. Had to take it else where and this is why it failed I pay double of what he charge me.

This place is terrible. They didn't fix my transmission. Tom charged me 2500$ Transmission went out in 4 months. Transmission has 1 year warranty and they don't want to fix it. WHAT A SCAM!

The manager Tom call's you more than bill collector do. I took my truck there to get the transmission rebuilt and also had him do a lot more work. I told him I would pick it up the next week he called my phone 5 to 10 times a day to the point I told him my wife would pick it up. My wife ended up getting sick and being hospitalized and I let him no that and I asked him could I pay over the phone and he said no so I told him he would have to wait. So two to three days later he calls me and say that he is charging me storage now remind you I had 2,000.00 worth of work down on my truck and there are no signs posted or do it say on the receipt or did he tell me or my wife when it got dropped off to him. Hi lies and say it's not his fault it's the owner but he will not let you talk to the owner or nothing so do not do business with the place.

This place is a Damn Scam!!!!! Why didn't I look at all these reviews before I took my car there. Tom fixed my car and the same day it was jerking again and then 3 days later the transmission is messed up again. Why is he still in business!!!! Why!!!!!! You cant keep ripping people off. Fix the Damn car right the first time so you wont have any problems. SMFH I am sooo Pissed $1200 down the drain. I could have went and did a better job myself.
