Every time i come here im shocked at how unfriendly and dull the staff is. I would have expected way better from them. Its such an expensive store, but traders joe next door feels like a cute dream jn comparison…

I regularly shop at the Gelson's because they have items other supermarkets do not carry, and non-grocery items are not locked away in glass cases. This is a huge irritant for an honest shopper like myself. However Gelson's prices are quite a bit higher than elsewhere. For that money, or even without it for that matter, you would expect at least a minimum of courtesy at checkout. I shopped there on Friday morning at 1030 and experienced the most rude treatment I ever had at checkout in a supermarket. The woman [I would not describe her as a lady based on behavior] barely acknowledged my presence. She stated scanning but left the articles where I could not reach them- I was trying to bag the groceries myself and there was no one to help. When I asked her how to get the conveyer belt going, she got out from behind where she was standing, gave me a dirty look and pushed on something. Not a word! No ''thank you for bagging" or "here you go" or "sorry for that".

Today I visited your store and, unfortunately, once again had an unpleasant experience with the staff. In your store, unfortunately, many employees, especially the cashiers, do not display the expected level of friendliness. Specifically, at the register where Anna F. was working, she did not even respond to my greeting today. Also, in the aisle, when I asked a staff member about product availability, she clearly seemed annoyed that I interrupted her. Each visit to your store leaves me with a negative impression, and I haven’t encountered this kind of treatment at other locations in your chain. The level of customer service in your store should align with your company’s standards and policies. I understand you aim to provide quality service for your customers. Please take note of this location.

A full service market (in my neighborhood) that is PRICEY without a doubt, but sometimes it's my only choice because I have a busy schedule. They also have a great floral department if you need something special. The staff are genuinely happy to help and do what they can to make grocery shopping easier and to get you what you need/want...remember to be kind. And...always keep your receipt now matter which market you go to!

I don’t usually come here because it’s so pricey but my wife stopped by to get me some sweet treats because my cravings were crazy but when she gave it to me when she got home we realized things were a month or TWO EXPIRED. We purchased on 11/7 and some things we purchased expired on 9/30. Some more things not pictured.
