This is the first time I've seen a store behave like this and refuse me a product. I came to the store to get some cheese. I ask them to give me what I need, they refuse me. What kind of service is this! The salesperson in the meat and cheese department is a man. want to be rejected in this store. come and have a negative experience
Every time I place an order on the Vons app it directs me to this location because of the zip code and I find this customer service at this location to be very difficult and rude. This previous order I placed was missing a couple of items and when I tried to call customer service, someone named Nama, she told me to contact DoorDash or Uber because it was not her problem that my items weren’t received. My daughter and I even tried calling DoorDash since she said it was DoorDash who was delivering my order, but they said to contact the Vons store since they couldn’t issue a refund. Despite telling her this, she was not understanding that I was using the Vons app, not a third party to have this item delivered and I feel like I have to clarify that on the Vons app, I don’t even get that much information about the deliverer. It just shows me their name, but I can’t even contact them directly. This person was so rude that she was raising her voice, talking down to me, and she hung up on me. She didn’t even ask if I wanted to get a refund of redelivery, and for this location, this is not the first time I’ve had this issue. On a previous order, the deliverer picked up my order and wasn’t moving on the app and because I can’t contact them, I had no idea what they were doing. I called the store again and it wasn’t until I called that they told me the deliverer tried to steal my items and that they were waiting for someone else to pick it up. Had I not called, they would’ve never told me this information and I found it so frustrating because it had been two hours since my original delivery time. Whenever I try to place an order, I have to hope and pray that my items come and because of this last encounter, I canceled my FreshPass subscription and it’s unfortunate because I’m also a Vons employee so I understand the frustration of working customer service, but as a customer, I did not find the staff here very helpful.
TL;DR: my car was towed while I was in the store. I had to pick up a flag and some snacks for a group of people going to protest today. I went to Von's, friendly neighborhood store I frequent, where I could get snacks and B&S accessories right around the corner where I could get the flag. I was in a hurry. I went and got the flag and came right back and put it in my car. Took under 10 minutes. I went in do my shopping, came out with arms full of groceries, and my car was gone. I talked to the manager and he said he couldn't help. Bill from Diamond Towing: $404. There were clear signs posted saying, if you leave the property, your car will be towed. On the other hand, my car was towed while I was in the store shopping. Awful experience.
Recurring issue with inaccurate inventory and higher‑priced substitutions. I’ve noticed a consistent problem when ordering from Vons through delivery apps: items are listed as available, but once the order is placed, I’m told they’re “out of stock,” and the only substitutes offered are noticeably more expensive. This isn’t an occasional inventory mistake — it’s a repeating pattern. The lower‑priced item is always the one that suddenly becomes unavailable, and the suggested alternatives are always higher in price. When you’ve already built your cart around that item, declining the substitution means cancelling the entire order and starting over somewhere else. That’s not a real choice; it’s a pressure tactic created by the system. Whether intentional or not, this setup consistently pushes customers toward more expensive products after checkout. If this has happened to you as well, I encourage you to report it to the delivery app and to Vons corporate. Accurate inventory and honest availability are basic expectations, and customers shouldn’t be paying more just to avoid wasting time.
I won’t be surprised if nothing is done AT ALL, about my experience at the store. My significant other is a former employee of theirs. We went in yesterday to buy somethings as well as some lottery tickets. After paying we walked out to scratch them off. We ended up winning so we went back in to cash them. The cashier at self checkout proceeded to call a supervisor but he unfortunately couldn’t come at the time so she asked the store manager Nelson. Once he saw it was my significant other who was with me he refused to help us out. He said “oh no no i can’t” When the cashier let him know the other supervisor could not come he practically huffed & puffed as if it was a total inconvenience. Mind you I was the one who was asking for help, my significant other was watching our infant daughter as I was trying to cash in the lottery tickets. It should NOT matter that my significant other is someone who he is not fond of. We are paying customers & to be treated as if we are inconveniencing him? Unacceptable. This isn’t the first time either where Nelson has been biased towards me because of my significant other. He is unbelievably rude, inconsiderate & aggressive when he doesn’t like something or someone. He is the ONLY one who always refuses to help me or my family out. Truly unacceptable behavior, being biased isn’t what vons should represent.
