Came here w/ friends after we took a Barry’s class together lol. Got a friends and family discount bc my friend was working here 🙈 Fried chicken is fire, but not as good as BB.Q Chicken imo. My friends loved it tho - Full drumstick and wing combo ($32) w/ crispy spicy batter (+$1) and (1) sweet and spicy lv 2 and (2) soy garlic sauces: 8/10, pretty solid, don’t remember which sauce I liked more - Mac & cheese ($9.99): 7/10, standard - Fried combo ($23.99): 6/10, standard *Note: Paying w/ cash is cheaper
I've heard so much about Pelicana chicken, so I really wanted to check it out. I ordered delivery from here one day and thought that it was just okay. We got their soy garlic chicken, their original (with honey mustard sauce on the side), and their ddeokbokki. I thought the breading of the chicken was good and portions were also okay. I just wish the soy garlic had more sauce/a stronger soy garlic flavor. And, I wish the ddeokbokki wasn't so soupy, and the sauce was thicker. Overall, it was alright but I think I would choose another spot if I wanted Korean fried chicken.
Wow—yum. If you’re craving legit Korean fried chicken, this is the spot. We ordered a whole chicken and some boneless, and both came out scalding hot—no exaggeration. That heat is a solid sign of just how fresh everything is. Crispy, not greasy, and the boneless chicken had the kick we asked for—it definitely delivered. We also tried the cheese sticks and cheese balls. Again, super hot and fresh. The cheese balls were new to me—slightly sweet in a subtle way that took them in a surprisingly good direction. A nice little twist I wasn’t expecting. The Cajun fries? On point. Perfectly seasoned and piping hot, just like the rest of the meal. And then—$5 beers. Yes, please. They had some solid choices too, including an Italian beer and a nice IPA. Service was just as good as the food—kind, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Kinda reminds me of Bon Chon which is another Korean fried chicken chain. Legs and wings so juicy and not over cooked at both places. These are made to order so expect a long wait of about 20 minutes which is not bad since I once waited an hour at another out of state place but that’s another story for different time. That’s one guarantee since it’s made to order which is they are always sizzling hot. Most chains not made to order is a bit rolling dice. I wud opt for legs and wings which are so much better since breast or thigh are such tiny pieces here and breast as always just over cooked for me. Ambiance is fast food place though quiet, clean, and a bit nicer than your average fast food place. This only works if you enjoy their sauces which are a bit sweet but without it, there is no flavor. Price is a bit expensive since with coupons or deals I can get double amounts for half its price at KFC or Popeyes. I honestly was a bit on fence coming here especially during KFC Tuesdays Deals but sometimes just need to change it up.
NEVER and I mean NEVER order the Mac & Cheese here. It had NO flavor and was the worst Mac & Cheese Ive ever had in my life!! Just straight up Garbage!! It’s so bad that I wanted to give to a homeless person around the area and my co worker was like trash it!! It’s that bad! My coworker ordered fries and they were so basic. McDonald’s fries are way better and I don’t even like McDonalds like that. The women who took my ordered got my order wrong too maybe if they didn’t play such loud music, she would be able to hear me! How do places like these stay in business when you can’t make simple fries and Mac & cheese. Never again!! Save your Money!!
