I don’t get the hype. The food was really bland. I got the spicy soft tofu stew. It had no flavor just the flavor of chili flakes. No depth to the soup at all. The side dishes were also just ok, nothing I wanted to keep eating after one bite. The atmosphere was crowded, the food bland, and we felt like we were being rushed because of the line of people. I would not recommend and will not be dining here again.
We usually come in at around 5pm just before the parking lot gets too crowded and just before wait time gets agonizing. The banchan is delicious, generous and does help work up your appetite. We enjoy their seafood pancake here and love that theres a regular portion and a larger one. The combo meal is worth it. The LA Galbi and original tofu soup is our go-to especially during colder months. The rice is cooked perfectly and pairs so well with some hot spicy soup. We always leave full and satisfied!
Me and mom my ended up sharing a combo meal. The serving size was perfect for us and we even took home leftovers! Our server was attentive and she made sure to refill our ban chan when we were running low. This place does get busy but we came before the dinner rush.
This place is a local favorite in Fort Lee. Anytime I come in during the weekend it’s jam packed! If you’re dining while there’s a seasonal special, there’s a pretty big chance that it’s popular among the customers there…I would consider getting them. In particular, the stone pot rice with the mushrooms is a definite stand out! It has more mushrooms and toppings than rice which is rare and of course the soon tofu is a must order. One hack of mine is pouring it over the rice, it makes the rice much more tasty and flavorful. Their banchan is also pretty great and they give a free fries yellow croaker per entree/person. Also something to note is that service is fairly fast and the food comes quickly despite the restaurant’s relative busyness
I remember the locations in LA and NY, so I decided to come to the New Jersey location. Wait time today was 10 minutes, arrived at 6:22 and was seated at 6:32. I asked one of the employees about the amount of people they served per dinner session, and they said around 500 people during weekends at 200 people. They are open 365 days a year. I ordered the C1 combo, which is the galbi (갈비) combo, and comes with mixed soon doobu (섞어 순두부). The banchan (반찬) is posted in the pictures I have attached. The kimchi was very nice and traditional. Things to note that are not about food: Most servers know Korean, and there are some servers who know Spanish. The layout of the restaurant is very French-like, in a way; the tables are very close together. I have a photo of one of the decorations. There is also a TV broadcasting food channels, which I have also attached. The bathroom (at least the men's one) isn't dirty, relatively clean but a bit of damage. Photo attached. On to the food, I received my order within 12 minutes. I received the banchan 5 minutes after I ordered. The galbi was extremely tender and tasteful. Definitely would recommend. The soon doobu was very good, and please be careful, it is extremely hot. Overall this place is great for a taste of Korea's finest. I'd give it a 4.8/5.
