This is a great restaurant and my favorite place to bring a family. It is very kid friendly. We went for a family meal with 9 people, aged 11-83 years old. We ordered the triple combo, 2 orders of mandu, japchae and haemul paejon and it was enough for our party. The staff are very attentive. Everyone was happy with the meal. My absolute favorite thing about San Soo Kap San 2 though are the beautiful array of banchan. They provided egg souffle and soft tofu soup with the meal. I also love that after the meal they provided sujeonggwa for the adults and sikhye for the kids. I highly recommend you try it out: great food and excellent value.
The best Korean barbecue in the city. Period. Service is excellent and food is incredible. I recommend the Triple Combo. The ribeye and pork belly portions were large and tasted amazing. The Japchae and Haemulpajeon were great as well. Also, they probably have the best banchan in Queens (and probably the city). The squid, potato, kimchi, cabbage, and green beans are all very good. The food is priced well, especially when compared to other places. I could not recommend this place enough and will definitely be coming back.
My sister and i were hungry and I randomly recommended this place because i came a few years ago. I was nervous I was gonna recommend something bad but this place EXCEEDED our expectations. We ordered a brisket, pork belly rib, and seolleongtang to share and it was the perfect amount. The service was a 10/10, everyone was super inviting, and the place was packed with what seemed to be many local korean families. The side dishes were just right and the steamed egg was perfect for the moment. Would recommend and honestly shoutout to the people working there because they ate that up.
This was the first time I'd ever encountered a Korean BBQ restaurant that didn't change their grill pan. We ordered steak, pork, and seafood, and the same grill pan was never changed. Moreover, other tables weren't using the same pan; they were using wire mesh. As a result, all the food tasted terrible. The steak was of poor quality, too tough to chew, and we had to spit it out. The servers turned the grill on the highest setting, burning all the food, as if they wanted us to finish quickly and leave. I will never go there again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The food was bad, the service was terrible, and you'll regret going!
Taking a brief trip to NYC to visit parents. The weather is on the cooler side for this time of the year. But great time for Korean BBQ and with parents’ suggestion, we decided to have dinner at this gem. The menu is simple and easy. Raw craps is in season and one order would be too much for the table of 4 people, it is my all time favorite and I had to decline ordering. The server sensed that I was disappointed so she sent a smaller portion as a complementary dish, and I devoured it! Her generosity and her thoughtfulness made the dining experience memorable. The food was impressive, the atmosphere and ventilation was excellent. Give this gem a try and share your experience with me.
