I was really excited to try this place; all the reviews sounded great. Loved the banchan. The mandu was perfect! Crunchy yet also chewy and great flavor. The tteokbokki was delicious. However, the bibimbap and the stew weren't as flavorful as we expected. There was also an overwhelming amount of that smoky burnt corn husk flavor. I would come back to try something else though. The apps were awesome so maybe we picked the wrong mains. The service was great and the food came out quickly and super hot.
We went around noon on the weekend, and the place filled up very quickly. It felt understaffed, we waited quite a while during our meal and the side dishes didn’t come out until after the rice was served. Also our tea never got refilled. The food overall was okay. The oyster pancake was pretty good, but we did bite into a shell. The bulgogi is not recommended, very little meat, quite dry, and lacking flavor. We basically forced ourselves to finish it. Overall it’s fine. If you happen to pass by during off-peak hours, it might be worth a try, but I wouldn’t wait in line for this place.
A small Korean restaurant with great food and warm hospitality! The menu offers a good variety of dishes, and everything we ordered was delicious. The service was super friendly — they kept refilling the banchan (small side dishes) many times, which was such a nice touch. Our food came out really quickly, too. Cozy place, great flavors, and genuinely kind people. Highly recommend!
I've visited this restaurant twice now and the food is absolutely delicious! The staff is warm and welcoming, so don't let the Korean menu intimidate you. The side dishes have a traditional flavor, and the cozy atmosphere makes it the perfect place to enjoy a bowl of kalguksu. Their prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions - including the side dishes! This place has quickly become my go-to whenever I'm craving Korean food, and I'm already looking forward to trying something new on my next visit!
Came for lunch on Christmas Day and there was not an empty table, that should tell you something. At first the lady was a bit off putting but I figured out she was just overwhelmed because she was the only one working. We stood for a while as she took orders, cleaned, served. The seafood sujaebi (hand torn noodles) broth had a lot of depth. Large portion as well, so I took half home. The banchan (side plates) were not the usual ones you see in Ktown and I appreciated that. So tasty, especially the stewed daikon. The server came by to ask if we wanted more sides. The seafood pajun (pancake) was the best I've had in NY, thin and crispy. I'd come back again and again.
