So incredibly pleased with the service I received from Barlavi Inc. I used this firm to help me with the purchase of my co-op apartment in Forest Hills, Queens, NY. From start to finish, all my concerns were addressed and well represented. Pej Barlavi is extremely professional, a very strong asset to have alongside you, as he goes to bat for you. The purchase process of real estate is filled with anxiety but Pej handled everything with eas and my concerns were always addressed and alleviated. Barlavi Inc. is a quality boutique firm.
I've been working with Pejman Barlavi now for a couple years. We started working together when I left NYC at the onset of the COVID 19 outbreak. Because I was not in NYC, Pej had to do a lot of the work an owner would have to do when searching for a new tenant. Pej went above and beyond the normal duties one would think a rental agent is supposed to do. He arranged for cleaning people, furniture movers, as well as handymen to make the necessary finishings in order to get my apartment in "tenant ready" condition. What I really appreciated was that he was honest with me. The tenant I chose to rent to didn't have the best credit because she was delinquent on her liabilities. He fully disclosed this to me. I took a chance on the tenant and ended up getting screwed. She was supposed to put the electric bill on my apartment in her name and she didn't. Because of COVID restrictions, the power company did not shut the power off for her non-payments and she left a delinquent electric bill of over $1000. Pej is an extremely diligent and attentive agent. That tenant should not be able to sully his name on any review because she didn't leave on good terms. Pej had to get into the unit at the end of her lease and she refused to let him in. Because of that, she gives him a bad review. Apart from not paying her utility bills, she left the apartment filthy and Pej again has gone above and beyond to get the place ready for the next tenant. No large real estate rental firm would do half of what Pej has done to keep both myself as an owner and prospective tenants happy. He is solid and cares about his job as well as clients on both sides.
Avoid at all cost. Pej Barlavi is incredibly unprofessional and creates unsafe situations for tenants. Only cares about making his own money. Puts tenants to risk and lies to property staff to gain access to units. Do yourself a favor and find another agent to work with.
I’ve purchased (2) properties from Pej Barlavi successfully. He always looks for the best interest of his clients and he is extremely honest and very personable. I could not be happier with Barlavi Realty. Strongly recommended for purchases,sales and rentals. Thumbs up all the way 🤙🏻
I have bought and sold through Pej four times over the past decade including on a couple business deals with my best friend and business partner. I trust that Pej always strives to do the right thing by me. Pej, and my partner and I (and latterly just the two of them) pounded the pavement visiting dozens of apartments until we found our dream home. There were complications, and we navigated them. Often, this involved Pej going the extra mile for us. Over time, we became mates, and I became fond of Pej, and his lovely wife, and I know the feeling is mutual. Pej and I differ on some issues, and neither of us is perfect, but we were always able to talk through any difficulties, and one thing is certain: Pej puts his heart and soul into his work, and truly cares about his clients. I trust that Pej always has my best interests at heart.
