I am extremely disappointed by the repeated lack of professionalism at this Home Depot location. While a few female employees have consistently been helpful and courteous, several male staff members have demonstrated dismissive and hostile attitudes that make customers feel unwelcome. On one visit, I needed ice melt but only saw 50 lb bags at the entrance — far too heavy for someone my size (120 lb). I politely asked a male employee whether smaller bags were available, as I had purchased them here before. Instead of answering respectfully, he loudly said: “Ma’am, do you know where you are?! This is Home Depot! Home Depot only sells large items. We are Home Depot! If you want something small, go to another store.” The tone was condescending and unnecessary. I was asking a simple product question — not challenging the store’s identity. On another occasion, I needed an electric drill but am not familiar with power tools. I walked the aisle multiple times trying to decide. When I asked an employee for guidance, I was told, “If you found it online, then just buy it online. We don’t have it here.” That response was dismissive and reflected a complete lack of customer support. I then showed another employee a product photo from the Home Depot website. He briefly pointed toward an aisle and walked away without checking inventory, offering clarification, or providing assistance. There was no effort to ensure I found what I needed. Customer service in a retail environment is not optional — especially in a store where many customers rely on staff guidance to make informed purchases. Not everyone shopping at a hardware store is an expert in tools. Customers should never feel embarrassed, talked down to, or brushed off for asking reasonable questions. This was not a one-time misunderstanding. It reflects a pattern of unprofessional behavior that management should address seriously. I hope this feedback leads to accountability and improved training so future customers are treated with respect
I love the Halloween decorations options at Home Depot. They have extensive selection and price is reasonable ..
I've been stocking up on tools for my remodel and visiting Home Depots around Queens, Beverly and the big guy on PM's helped me get a special tool and her crew went the extra mile to 'Homer' it out of the store. They keep the store neat so props is in order to the crew at College Point. Helpful and cheery, they made my evening.
It’s not often I will review a large corporation business, however I do feel this Home Depot location deserves all 5 stars plus more. My wife and I always come to this Home Depot for most of our DIY purchases no matter where we are. There is always parking in the lot, and the store is usually not crowded. When asking sales associates for assistance, they walk you to the item you’re looking for and if it’s not the right fit, they will try their best to help out. Moreover, tonight my wife and I went to purchase a washer and dryer, after completing the purchase, we changed our mind. Our sales rep Gil was incredibly polite and helpful when canceling our order and placing a new order, he also need a manager to assist with the canceling and she deserves and award for her exceptional professional customer support. Thanks again, Home Depot, Gil and Ana for making this purchase a wonderful experience.
Convenient location if one needs anything quick. Although honest to God, I wouldn’t expect to find any helps there. It’s got some of the most god-awfully disgruntled, angry looking employees - and I do mean employees, in plumbing department. Home Depot are you paying these folks at all? To be fair though, paint department is top notch. Anyway I go to Long Island Home Depot now even though it takes me an hour more. But if you know you wanna get, (or getting paints) this location is great. Lotsa parking space. And you get a great beautiful view of Citi-fields every visit — Go Mets!!!!
