I recently used Deer Lake Law Group for my property purchase and had a really good experience. Everything went smoothly and the team was very professional and easy to work with. They made the whole process straightforward and stress-free.
Had an 30 minute consultation appointment. At first when I was trying to inquire for a lawyer through a referral progam at work providing me with 30 min free consultation, I was then sent an email with pricing of the consultation, the law firm completely missing that it was a referral. Then I had phoned and asked I can send in a summarized version of the intake form in order to utilize our 30 min best to our abilities. I was then sent an email that I did not fill out the intake form, when I confirmed on the summarized file I sent, they advised me theyre not sure who told me its okay but its not their process but said because it is very detailed they can use it. I did ask if it can be sent to the lawyer for us to be able to utilize our time appropriately. I was appointed to Tiffany. When joinging the meeting, she asked me questions of information i included in the brief summary which made me not confident, as she did not seem confident at all, she more just gave me a run down of what things would look like legally and how court process would work. I expressed my concerns and advised her this wasnt my first meeting with a lawyer but I dont think she took it seriously. It seemed tho, if this could be a fight in court there is no confidence there. I expressed the concern of my ex not agreeing and being able to take everything if he is served with a proposal and she just said sorry, in order to do an intern order we would have to start the court process....... okay but thats not problem I just need to know how that would look and if I would be the one screwed in the end but again she seemed more concerned in using our time to explain the legal aspect of things generally speaking and not how it would look in my case. And that "it would cost more money to go through the court process" At this point it seems tho because it was a free consultation and not a paid one this wasnt taken seriously or the same.... I just need someone who is willing to fight for my case. And did not get that from this law firm unfortunately. Best of luck.
