Tsaocaa

I was thoroughly impressed by the variety of flavors that is available at Tsaocca. I am quite picky with my boba, but I was super excited to try Tsaocca out! I ordered the mango mochi with whipped cream to go. They served me my drink without a lid? I was so confused and asked for a lid. I genuinely believed that they probably forgot that my drink was ordered "to go"... However, the worker passive aggressively told me that if I wanted her to put a lid on it, then she would have to "scoop ALL" of the whipped cream off... I'm not sure how she expected me to travel with my drink without a lid when I ordered it to go... I had to ask her if I could get a lid anyway... I guess they don't have dome lids? Lol Anyway... The drink was delicious. The only critique I have is that I wish they blended their ice better. There were random large clumps of ice throughout the drink. I really enjoyed the drink but my encounter was a little off-putting.

I got the potato based corn dog that was nice and crispy, great meaty and cheesy flavor. I also tried the pork sung and seaweed egg waffle that was the perfect mix of salty and savory, yum! Finally, we got the strawberry green tea and lychee green tea with lychee jelly, both were quite refreshing and delicious. Hands down my favorite Boba fix-stop in all of the Midwest.

I need to scroll back at my photos a little better since it was the beginning of February last year that we tried this place after wandering around Old Orchard Mall in Skokie. After dinner I always ask my boys who are 5 and 10 now, "boba or ice cream?" and they demanded bubble tea. Wanted to try a house we haven't tried yet so Tsaocaa it was. Like many boba houses, they have a good selection of flavors and styles ranging from milk tea, fruit tea, fruit swirl, fruit yogurt, fruit mojito, coconut drink as well as some eats. They make it really good here, I went with the Piña Colada Coconut Drink, got the Strawberry Puree Milk for my youngest who liked it and the Taro Milk for my older son who didn't like it because he's not used to "real" Taro. Oh well, too bad for him. We live pretty far north from here in northeast Lake County but will definitely stop in again if ever in the area. Think I'll try some chicken or a corndog next visit.

I had to take a moment to shout out two absolute stars at Tsao Caa — Afeefa, Princess, and Mariyam. Every time I come in, they go above and beyond, and it truly makes a difference. Afeefa is always welcoming and attentive, making sure everything is just right. Princess brings such great energy and positivity — you can tell she genuinely cares about every customer. And Mariyam is incredibly efficient and detail-oriented, making even the busiest moments feel smooth and effortless. It’s rare to find a team that not only delivers great drinks but also creates such a warm and friendly experience. Because of them, Tsao Caa isn’t just a boba spot — it’s a place I actually look forward to visiting. Give these three the recognition they deserve — they’re doing an amazing job!

the mango mojito is perfect (even with 0% sugar), the only problem is that the staff is just radiating unfriendly vibes. one of girls tossed the straws and didn’t say anything but turn back around and chat with a coworker…? i said ‘thank you’ to another girl that was restocking straws and she didn’t say a single thing… yall gotta fix that customer service tbh. i get u guys aren’t starbucks quality customer service, but it just feels unwelcoming when the staff look like they don’t want to be there, just a thought. 🤷‍♀️
