Eighth Street Soondae (8가순대) is one of the best places in Los Angeles Koreatown to enjoy traditional Korean soondae, a Korean blood sausage similar to sausage but made with glass noodles and other ingredients. Even the small order of soondae is very generous and can be enough for two adults without ordering anything else. Their soondae-guk, a hot soup served with soondae, is especially worth trying. You can ask to include or leave out organ meats and liver depending on your preference. Personally, I enjoy both the soup and the platter with mostly just the soondae itself. This is a longtime local favorite, but parking can be very difficult during busy meal hours. When valet service is unavailable, you may need to double-park in the small lot in front of the restaurant. Despite the parking inconvenience, I highly recommend this place if you want generous portions and one of the closest tastes to traditional Korean soondae without traveling to Korea.

Portions are huge and probably the BEST soondae in Ktown LA (Korean mom approved). The owner is so sweet and reminded me of my grandma 🥺🫶. We ordered the small soondae combo and it was anything but small. The soondae is so soft and has the right amount of chewiness and pairs so well with either the soondae guk (soup), salt or kimchi. Came out with a food baby. You know it's legit when you leave a Korean restaurant with your stomach filled to the brim.

I absolutely love Korean blood sausage (soondae), and I used to go to Mubongri Soondae regularly. A friend recommended 8th Street Soondae, so I decided to give it a try. It was the best soondae I’ve had in Los Angeles, and the soondae soup was excellent as well. I also enjoy the liver, heart, and other assorted meats that come with the soondae, and everything was fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is the price. In Korea, soondae is considered one of the more affordable foods, so I felt the prices here were a bit high. Other than that, I had a great experience and would happily come back.

Delicious soondae. If you like soondae, you should visit this place to enjoy authentic Korean soondae. The price is reasonable, and the taste is excellent.

This place has an old-school vibe from the 90s, both in its appearance and interior. The staff are really friendly and full of energy. Soondae guk is mainly made with pork intestines, so some people might not like the smell or texture. But here, they seem to prepare the ingredients well, and the broth is very clean. The owner seems hardworking and reliable.
