Went in last week because I was craving fried catfish. Instead, I was given a FREE large plate of 12pc jumbo shrimp and onion rings. She told me they were closed permanently. I thought she was joking because she seemed super happy. A couple of days later, I read an article stating that they truly are closed. I also found out that the owners name is not Rick haha. This sucks because I had just discovered Ricks a year or so ago. I have been to many fried fish markets in LA and Ricks was the best. The only thing better is to fry it yourself at home. Ricks gave me nice sized fish filets and the batter was always crispy and flavorful.

Got the red snapper ask the lady how many pieces dose it went told me 4 ask for one more which was 5 eat 1 notice I had 5 left so she really gave me 6 pieces so that was cool. But when o Oder she ask me to pick my side told her macaroni salad and hushpuppy came with 2 wheat bread paid 16 I thought it came with French fries I was confuse so I had to Oder some fries that was 3 bucks so all to gather my plate was like 20 bucks it was my first time getting food here so if she ask to pick your side get your fries. There hot sauce taste like it belongs on tacos not fish did it like it the tartar sauce was ok it’s better in the little container like the hot sauce in picture not the package the service was a little slow the lady do all the cooking and the old man just sit around he only put your food in the bag taking his time not shore if he had a health issue look like he get high all day or something but the food was good no issues would I get food here again probably no a little pricey I’ll stay with the fish spot on pico and one more thing no where to sit and eat so you got to eat in your car and don’t travel here on the bus because your food will get cold unless you have an air fryer at home then go for it

I loved this place went there regularly but found out yesterday when I went that the owners retired sorry to say ricks is officially closed for business now I got to find another one the problem my wife is picky about seafood

The fish is so good!! not a fan of the sides but the way they season their seafood is delicious 🤤

Ordered the lunch fish/ shrimp combo..👎🏾 Fish was alright, kind of small catfish fillets; shrimp were rubbery and extremely overcooked.. will NOT return!! Pie was mediocre, at best!
