I visited Tsukiyo Sushi for the first time to host a very important guest, and the experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained the restaurant was. The private room–style seating immediately caught my attention. The setup, where you remove your shoes and sit at low tables, reminded me of Korea in the early 2000s and brought back a sense of nostalgia. It was surprising in the best way. I ordered the chirashi don, and I was genuinely amazed. The sashimi was sliced very thick, extremely fresh, and the portion size was very generous for the price. Considering that three people can easily spend $80 (including tip) at an average restaurant, it was shocking—in a good way—that three of us could enjoy such high-quality, refined Japanese cuisine for around $100. This is a place I would strongly recommend for important meetings or special occasions. Every staff member was incredibly well-trained, attentive, and kind. I don’t know if this comes from traditional Japanese hospitality, but seeing staff kneel to greet guests in a foreign country was both surprising and deeply impressive. Tsukiyo Sushi delivers not just great food, but genuine hospitality and respect for guests. I will absolutely return.
Came here on a Friday night and honestly had the best time 🌙✨ They have so many original cocktails that we stood there debating for a while 😅🍹 We ended up with the Yuzumi and the Earl Grey highball, and not gonna lie… they were poured a little strong 👀🔥 Very much it’s Friday, let’s live energy and we loved it 🥂💃 Food came out super fast, and every dish was explained when it hit the table. They even told us when it was best to eat it right away, which made us feel really taken care of 🫶 Our server was Young (I think!) - if you’re reading this, thank you!! 🙏💖 We ordered the assorted sashimi, eggplant karage, house salad, scallops crudo, and the Rolls Royce 🍣🍆🦪 Honestly? Everything was on point. No misses. The sashimi pieces were thick and plump — amazing texture and flavor 🤤 But my personal favorite was the eggplant tempura. Long, big pieces, crispy outside and soft, juicy inside. Literally my ideal eggplant situation 🍆✨ And the Rolls Royce… wow. That rich, creamy seafood flavor just melts in your mouth 🫠 I’m writing this review right now and already want it again 😭💭 They also have uni pasta and nabe on the menu, and as someone who is absolutely obsessed with nabe, I already know I’ll be back soon 🍲💘 Quick note on seating: there’s bar seating, and they also have private room-style seating where you take off your shoes 🧦✨ Nice options depending on the vibe you’re going for. Great drinks 🍸 Great food 🍣 Really thoughtful service 💗 Definitely coming back!
We found Tsukiyo Sushi randomly while searching online for a good sushi spot, and overall it did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and delicious, and we really enjoyed the wide variety of options--signature maki rolls, nigiri, and their signature izakaya dishes. Some standout izakaya items for us were the Saba Bouzushi and Rolls Royce, both packed with great flavor. The Tuna Crispy Rice was excellent as well- but we didn't know the pieces were so big, so we definitely over ordered on that one. The grilled mentaiko was a miss for us though--the texture and flavor just didn't work. For signature maki rolls, the Red Dragon Roll and Salmon Crunch Roll were excellent. The Salmon Crunch had fried onions, which we thought might be too overpowering, but it was actually really well balanced and tasty. The nigiri was also very good, though a few pieces were a bit too fatty for our preference. The menu is huge with plenty of options for everyone and very easy to share. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, which unfortunately means longer wait times. We waited past our quoted time, which was frustrating, and because it was close to closing, service felt a little rushed. That said, we did get to sit at a traditional Japanese floor table, which was a fun experience. The staff was friendly and service overall was good. Parking is easy with a free parking lot, and menu prices are fair--maybe slightly on the higher side, but reasonable for the quality. The only real downsides were the long wait, feeling rushed near closing, and noticing some fruit flies in the restaurant. Despite those issues, we had a great experience overall and would definitely come back.
One of the top sushi spots and easily my new favorite in K-town. I’ve already been here twice in one week, and both visits were great. I’ve honestly never seen this combination of price, quality, and quantity anywhere else. Everything we tried was delicious, but the $35 dinner set completely blew me away. Definitely get the shrimp and vegetable tempura and the dinner set. Service is amazing, and there’s both street parking and valet. The only downside is the wait, especially since they don’t take weekend reservations, but it’s absolutely worth it.
I was so excited to come try this place and I was sorely disappointed. The fish in the sushi lunch set was all marinated and slightly watery, so every slice tasted the same. That led us to question if their fish wasn’t fresh or if they were hiding something, because why else would you not distinguish between salmon and tuna?? I think a lot of people just don’t have experience judging good fish and thus get swayed purely by visual presentation. We also ordered a mentaiko pasta, which needed to be shared amongst everyone and consumed extremely quickly because it was so ridiculously rich. They should halve the sauce, because otherwise it gets old quickly. However! The bento box is a huge steal for the amount of food they give you! We got karaage + tempura (why was their karaage spicy????), but the portion was fabulous and it was definitely acceptable quality food. The plaza it’s in is also one of the more questionable Ktown lots. The valet guy didn’t help us park AND he basically demanded for the money and we were a little freaked out by our whole encounter.
