If you feel like home sick of cheap grilled street seafoods in a tent in S Korea, well this is the place to check out. Except that you’re on the walkway (the bridge to be exact), under a tent (since it cold & windy), you got someone to do all the grilling and you seat & just have a facial or body steamed from the grilled (felt the warm but smelling afterward for sure), and cost WAY lots more. Is it a bad thing, well, in my opinion no since you’re in the US & SoCal - it’s expensive already, you got the view of the mall plus the sunset and eating like working class while people walking by, watching & sometime judging you eating good & fresh foods. To be fair, there is inside seating but it’s abit small & boring and what is the point doing all grilling inside and not letting people see & smell the great foods. We picked the cheapest combo ($170), and ordered the kimchi strew w/ pork soup ($24) plus a soju ($13), but the foods are huge portion, fresh and sweet. They did all the grilling right infront of you and all you do is just enjoy it. Service here is excellent, very attentive and asked constantly if you need anything…they do worked in a team so you might get more the 2-3 people serving/grilling for your table. It was excellent & enjoyable & definitely great feast. Until the bill came, but it’s aok, will give up coffee for couple months and be on fasting for 2 days. That would recovery the damage, but it all worth it for sure. Can’t wait for the next visit.
The vibe felt just like a Korean pojangmacha—super cozy and warm, especially on a rainy day. The food was amazing, and watching it being cooked made the experience even more fun. FYI: If you’re a group of four, I highly recommend the medium platter and ordering extra side dishes—they’re absolutely worth it.
I’ve been coming to K Soul Food for 5 years and can swear by it. Their popcorn chicken teokbokki/korean fried chicken rice cake is amazing and I have eaten it endlessly since 2020. I come here basically every week to get it. Their pork belly plate with the green onions is also amazing and my new favorite. The pork is crispy and juicy. I always recommend all my friends to come here!! The workers have recognized me and been endlessly kind to me and my friends. I once brought some friends from out of town and the salmon sashimi plate had been taking a little longer than the rest of the food and the waiter gave us free mussel soup. I love this place so much and the portions are good to share and do family style.
I usually never leave reviews, but I felt I had to share my experience. I have ordered delivery from here many times and have been a loyal customer for a long time. This was my fourth time I came to eat in person after a while. I didn’t know the menu had changed because I had been ordering delivery for a while before coming in again. I spoke very highly of this place to my parents and friends, so I was excited to finally bring my parents here. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We could tell that priority was given to outdoor seating, which I understand if it’s busy, but once we walked inside, no one assisted us. We didn’t even know where to sit. We saw workers passing by, yet no one came to help or acknowledge us. I basically had to ask to be given service. I have never experienced that before. Honestly, I wish we had walked away, but we stayed because for one we were really craving the food and thought the poor service might be due to how busy it was. Which does not excuse the rudeness either that we experienced. Seconds because we didn’t want to look disrespectful to leave. However, the service continued to be very bad. I needed help for missing utensils, and order confusion and all I got was rude behavior causing extreme disappointment. I could go into many details, but this review would be far too long. Long story short, poor customer service, we didn’t enjoy the food. It was not the same as it used to be, rudeness, and it was very expensive for two plates with very little food. We had been loyal delivery customers who regularly bought them, but after this experience, we will no longer eat here or order from this place again. I felt ignored and judged. I became so overwhelmed that I asked for our food to be packed to go because we felt uncomfortable and embarrassed by how we were treated in front of other customers. We were so patient and understanding just to be treated this way. I had never experienced this type of service anywhere. My parents really wanted to eat here. We won’t ever again. This was my experience, and these are my honest feelings.
I decided to meet an old friend for drinks near my place after a long time, and we chose K Soul Food, which I’ve been seeing a lot on social media lately. The atmosphere felt just like outdoor dining in Korea, which I really loved, and the food was very satisfying. All of the staff were extremely friendly, which made the experience even better. It was nice to feel that Korean vibe again after so long, and the grilled seafood was delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back. The manager was especially cheerful and fun, and thanks to him, it was a night full of laughter.
