Had an amazing dinner at Jang Choong Dong Jokbal in Koreatown, LA – hands down the best jokbal spot in the city! Ordered the bossam, jokbal, and acorn jelly (dotori muk), and everything was perfection. The jokbal was incredibly tender, flavorful, and that perfect mix of chewy skin and juicy meat. The bossam paired so well with it, and the dotori muk was a refreshing side. Made for a fantastic weekend evening – highly recommend if you’re craving authentic Korean comfort food! 5/5 stars.

No kidding — the stir-fried octopus here deserves a fan club 🐙🔥 That kick of spice + sweet veggies = perfection. 💛boiled pork (white-cut jokbal) — the meat comes with the skin on, giving it that perfect chewy, bouncy texture. Beef Short Rib Soup With Dried Cabbage Stir-Fried Squid With Vegetables Feels like eating in Seoul, not LA.

Having been away from my homeland for a long time, the dishes I miss most are Jokbal (pig's trotters), Bossam (pork belly wraps), and Nokdujeon (mung bean pancake). Jang Choong Dong Jokbal is the one place that satisfies all those cravings. The kongnamul-guk (bean sprout soup) is especially delicious. Even though it's served as a side, it’s so flavorful and refreshing. The staff are attentive, walking around with kettles to refill the bean sprout soup without even having to ask. The owner is kind, and the employees are quick to meet the customers’ needs. Among the side dishes, the musengchae (spicy julienned radish salad) was outstanding. It’s mouth-watering and pairs perfectly with the Jokbal and Bossam. I've been a regular since they were at their Western location, making me a loyal customer for over 20 years. Highly, highly recommend!

Old style Korean restaurant specialise in pork trotter dish. Most of the menu are spicy. So be aware. Also this means that kids may have limited option. However, steamed pork was ok for the kids and people who do not fancy spicy taste. Parking is alright.

I have been a customer of this restaurant since before the COVID-19 pandemic. It used to operate between Western Avenue and 4th and 5th Streets, but moved next to Hannam Chain on Olympic Boulevard about 6 to 7 years ago. I often bought Jokbal and Bossam to go from their previous location and ate them at home, but the service is not as good as it used to be. The price has been steadily increasing over the last five years. It's difficult to expect the same quality as before with the increased price, especially when ordering Jokbal and Bossam to go. They no longer provide items that were previously offered as standard with a take-out order, while only raising the price. It's not a restaurant I would particularly recommend. Make sure to check what you get, as they omit items that were previously given by default for take-out (what they omit is the business's secret, so don't get upset when you get home). I will not use this place again.
