Jonsol Gukbap absolutely delivered. The food and service were incredible from start to finish. We ordered the gukbap, spicy cold noodles, sizzling short rib plate, and the leek pancake, and every dish was a hit. The gukbap was rich, deeply flavorful, and incredibly comforting without feeling too heavy. The broth had that slow simmered depth you can taste right away, and it paired perfectly with the rice. The spicy cold noodles were refreshing with a bold kick of heat and just the right balance of tangy and savory. The texture of the noodles was perfect, chewy and satisfying. The sizzling short rib came out on a hot plate, tender and juicy with beautiful caramelization and flavor in every bite. The leek pancake was crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with savory flavor without being greasy. The banchan selection was generous and fresh, and the kimchi stood out in particular. Everything tasted homemade and thoughtfully prepared. Service was warm, attentive, and efficient without making us feel rushed . If you are in Koreatown and want authentic, comforting Korean food that is not BBQ, this is the spot. We will absolutely be back.
I’d been craving gukbap for a while, and I was genuinely impressed with both the service and the food quality. The bossam (boiled pork) was tender and moist, and the bibimbap was delicious, but what stood out most was the generous portion size. The gukbap was really flavorful, and I also loved the leek pancake, especially since it even had squid in it. Above all, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, checking in on us and taking great care of everything throughout the meal. Thank you so much, and I’ll definitely be back!
Stopped here after dropping someone off at LAX and it was a great decision. The restaurant is located in Koreatown and the food was fantastic. I ordered the pork soup with rice (gukbap) and the spicy beef soup, and both were delicious. The pork soup was rich, comforting, and the pork was very tender. The spicy beef soup had a deep flavor with the perfect amount of heat. The side dishes were fresh and paired really well with the soups. Service was quick and the food came out fast. If you’re looking for authentic Korean comfort food in Koreatown, this place is definitely worth visiting.
I really enjoy coming here with a group and ordering lots of food to share. The soup broth is great and the bonchon has radish, fish cake, garlic stems, onion/jalapeno, kimchi and cabbage. The cold noodles is one of the best flavors I’ve had and they provider vinegar and mustard. The leek pancake is one the best dishes for sharing and is cut to 9 pieces. Definitely come here and try it. You will leave happy and full! There is a parking lot and possible street parking. We came in for lunch on a Saturday and the parking lot was not busy. “Valet was $2 lunches and $3 dinner.
We stopped by Jinsol GukBap and ordered the Su-Yuk and pork soup, and both were absolutely delicious. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the soup was rich, comforting, and tasted like it had been simmered with care. Everything came out hot and well-seasoned, perfect for a satisfying meal. You can really tell this place focuses on doing the basics right. Simple, hearty Korean food done exceptionally well. If you’re craving gukbap or quality pork dishes, this spot is definitely worth a visit.
