OMG... two thumbs up for Goat stew! Make sure to pre-order Steamed Black Goat Meat Platter (Sooyook) before you dine in.. (min. 4 hours to cook). Food & service : Very good Just little hard to find parking though.

This restaurant is very close to our home, and although I had visited occasionally before COVID, I never made it in after their renovation,until today. We have a large family with toddlers, so we often worry about causing inconvenience, but the staff were incredibly kind and attentive to us. We ordered the mushroom gopchang hot pot with a clear broth (which is not even on the menu), and we truly appreciated them accommodating our request. The menu isn’t extensive, but it has a clear identity, with their signature dish being the black goat specialties. The overall flavor of the food was very clean and refined, highlighting the natural taste of the ingredients. You can really feel the chef’s pride. Black goat dishes are known for warming the body and being beneficial for health, so it was perfect for today’s cool weather. The interior was also clean and modern. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Rare to have a Korean restaurant specialize in goat. I love kalbi tang and tried the goat stew and it was excellent. Family-run business and has a no frills vibe. Friendly owners.

Goat Restaurant (aka Hanmijung) is, without question, the best Korean restaurant in Los Angeles if you’re looking for exceptional goat dishes. The quality of the meat is outstanding: tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, with none of the heaviness or strong aftertaste that goat can sometimes have. The flavors are deep and authentic, the broths are rich and comforting, and every dish feels carefully made rather than rushed. Portions are generous and ideal for sharing, making it a great place to go with friends who appreciate traditional Korean cuisine. If you want to experience truly excellent goat prepared the Korean way, this place is a must. A rare gem in LA and absolutely worth coming back to.

A wonderful dining experience. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to try some quality Korean food around Korea Town. The staff are incredibly warm and friendly and kindly served us even if we arrived an hour before closing 😅 They were so accommodating and offered us several rounds of refills on the side dishes which were delicious. We devoured the bean sprouts and kimchi within minutes of them serving it to us. The food was fantastic. The goat stew is definitely a must have. It's so tender and flavourful and not gamey at all. It's nicely mellowed out by a subtle spice and all the vegetables that it's served with. We had the beef stew as well which was also really good. Definitely a safer option for someone that's a bit hesitant about eating goat but definitely just as tasty.
