Five stars for the Trader Joe’s on Sunset Boulevard. Anyone who knows Sunset Plaza understands that this is not a gentle corner of Los Angeles. It is busy, high profile, and often chaotic. And yet this location runs with surprising ease. The underground parking is the quiet hero here. It is spacious, clean, and validated inside, which removes the usual stress that comes with shopping in this part of town. You park, take the elevator up, and you are immediately in a well organized, thoughtfully laid out store. No circling for spots. No sidewalk scramble. For Sunset, that alone feels like a small miracle. Inside, the selection is strong and consistently fresh. The produce section is well maintained and rotated quickly. The flower display is always vibrant and fairly priced. The wine and specialty items feel curated rather than random, which makes it easy to grab something interesting without overthinking it. Even during peak hours, shelves are stocked and lines move quickly. What truly elevates this location is the staff. Friendly, present, and efficient without any performative cheerfulness. They handle volume with grace. You get the sense that this is a well managed store with a team that takes pride in the operation. In a neighborhood known for flash and friction, this Trader Joe’s delivers something better. It delivers reliability. Easy parking, solid selection, warm service, and a smooth in and out experience. That is five star execution in one of the busiest pockets of Los Angeles.

Parking is free in the subterranean parking structure which is accessible from either Crescent Heights or Laurel. Be sure to park down on level 3 for the direct elevator into the Trader Joe’s store, and get your parking ticket validated before you exit to save you the trouble of having to repark to go back and get it! (Been there, done that, not fun! lol!) TJ’s staff are always personable and will help you find whatever you’re looking for. Grab the TJ’s flier at the front to get the 411 on this week’s deals and promotions. Try something new! There’s always interesting additions to their offerings and you just might find a new staple - I have!

I love this Trader Joe’s bc it’s close to crunch my gym. Makes it easy to shop after my workout. Today- I had my 1st negative experience here. First - I’m at this TJ very often - 3 times a week. Megan one of the managers is the best. Super awesome. Really great customer service. Today - there was another manager - very rude. I was shocked as TJ is notorious for kindness. I had an expired dish and she scolded me with a pretty annoyed tone that they only return if i don’t like the item… followed by a condescending remark of- “there is an expiration date on it for a reason. We’ll do it this one time “. Ok- so next time I’ll open it and say I didn’t like it. What logic is that ?! I’m there all the time. I spend a lot of money there. Super annoyed. I actually was going to grab a water before my workout out and just wanted to leave. On the way out of crunch, I almost decided to skip my shopping for the day. I ended up getting the must needs before Thanksgiving and skipping the rest as I did not want to stay there any longer with that manager. I wish I got her name. There is another awesome manager and most of the staff are fab. Hence why I was baffled by this managers attitude.

“Extremely disappointed. This wine tastes completely off. I bought the Green Fin Red Table Wine because it’s organic, but the flavor is horrible unbalanced, sour, almost spoiled-tasting. It has a strange aftertaste that makes it hard to drink. I’ve tried many budget wines before and this one is by far the worst. I would never buy it again.”

This Trader Joe’s has a lot more then normal stores, they sell alcohol bottles and have a big selection. I came here to buy water.
