I highly recommend Justin Kim as your CPA/Accountant. He is very knowledgeable, honest and a sincere accountant, who will definitely figure out the best way to get your books in order, and get you the BEST tax-refunds possible. He has decades of experience for sure.

Make sure to get a receipt To the California State Board of Accountancy, I am formally reporting the unethical and potentially illegal business practices of CPA Justin Kim. I used Justin Kim's services for my personal tax filings in 2022 and 2023 and always paid in cash. However, I never received a receipt. In April 2024, I filed my LLC tax return for the first time along with my personal tax return. At the time, Justin Kim informed me that while the deadline for LLC tax filing is March 15, the fee is waived for first-time filings. Regarding the costs for both personal and LLC tax filings, I recall paying a total of $950 or $800 in cash, as the original LLC filing fee was $1,000, but I received a discount for filing together with my personal tax return. In addition, I handed over $800 in cash to the Franchise Tax Board for tax, resulting in a total cash payment of either $1,600 or $1,750. Although I was somewhat uneasy about handing over such a large amount in cash, I trusted the accountant because I had been using him for two years. However, once again, I did not receive a receipt. In 2025, due to high LLC filing fees, I proceeded with my tax filing through a new CPA. The new CPA handled my personal and LLC tax filings, as well as the $800 payment to the Franchise Tax Board, online. However, about a week later, when I checked my bank statement, I found three transactions: $800, $800, and $80. When I inquired about this with the CPA, I discovered that the 2024 Franchise Tax Board payment had not been made. Shocked, I immediately contacted Justin Kim, but he denied ever receiving the $800 and hung up the phone without properly answering my questions. Subsequently, I sent three emails requesting receipts for the amounts paid in cash over the past two years, stating that I would proceed with a formal complaint if there was no response within 48 hours. However, he ignored all requests. Even if I do not get back the $800 I lost, a CPA must handle financial matters honestly and transparently. Accepting cash payments without issuing receipts is unethical and illegal. Due to this issue, I can no longer trust Justin Kim, and I believe it is important to raise awareness of this matter to prevent other victims from suffering the same fate. In particular, I hope the California State Board of Accountancy takes appropriate action to ensure that such incidents do not recur within the Korean business community, where cash transactions are common. When I contacted my new CPA, they informed me that my 2024 $800 Franchise Tax Board payment had not been made. Shocked by this, I immediately reached out to Justin Kim. When I asked about the missing payment, he denied ever receiving the $800 and, instead of addressing my concerns, became agitated and abruptly ended the call. Following this, I sent three emails requesting receipts for the cash payments I made over the past two years, stating that if I did not receive them within 48 hours, I would file an official complaint. However, he has ignored all my requests. Even if I am unable to recover the missing $800, I believe that a CPA should operate with honesty and transparency when handling financial transactions. Accepting cash payments without issuing receipts is unethical and illegal. Given these circumstances, I cannot trust Justin Kim with any financial matters, nor should others fall victim to the same situation. For these reasons, I am formally reporting Justin Kim to prevent further harm to other individuals, particularly within the Korean business community, where cash transactions are commonly used. I filed my taxes here, but I made a mistake and ran into a problem. I urgently went to see them on Tuesday, but they were closed. Google said they were open, but the office said they were closed on Wednesdays during the off-season, so I went back. It said they were closed on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the off-season, so I went back again on Thursday. But they were closed again. They stopped answering my phone calls and didn't respond to my emails. I made a reservation on the website on Friday, confirmed it, and went back today, but they were closed. What if they don't process the paperwork properly and disappear? If you see this, please respond to my email quickly. This is a very urgent situation.
