They do not answer the phone. It just rings for 3 minutes or so and then hangs up on you. The customer service is fractured so that if you call the 1-800 number they can't really answer your questions and m ake you call the branch, but then ... the branch does not answer.

I have an old account , pretty normal that I used it from time to time..I went to HQ office to open another account and the first thing they asked me is two ID but I told them I have an account there and still asked me for driver license and another bank bankcard (?) , I showed them my atm card from their bank and requested another! first of all , since when a bankcard (atm, credit card etc became and ID) they just wanted my bankcard from another bank, for what? very suspicious asking for credit card but they would not accept atm card from their own bank!! Couple of years ago bank of hope had a data breach and personal info including ssn, dob, names etc got stolen because of hacking, a relative got affected and had a credit monitoring for a year but still at risk. Now, going back to opening account, they first asked me for drivers license, then another bank bankcard or passport ! and then started asking me employment info etc so i said stop, i was not asking for a loan! for gods sake! i was bringing money to deposit it and why they need my financial and employment info for? i know they want to know that but i dont have to give that since not related to my transactions which is opening another account, i have been customer there for many years! you should know if you dont know it yet, banks as other institutions and companies nowadays, they sell your financial info for profit, they dont care about you or take responsibility if what happens with that info or even lose that info as in the case of data breach by hacking mentioned before!. I dont like this bank of hope, treatment and poor service and i ll be taking my business elsewhere, i have exp many other banks like chase, hsbc , citibank for example and they dont ask you for second id in form of bankcard and they asked you for employment info etc but you can refuse to answer and thats fine..here, they lied to me saying they needed that info and could not proceed without it, ! rubbish! i am adding bank of hope to list of blacklisted banks i wont do business in future that includes wells fargo as another example, remember when wells fargo created accounts without cust permissions and lied about it? finally, if you go to HQ branch is very quiet in a bad way..no business or customers..looks like they going bust ..but my account is insured by fdic, but still a pain ,so keep low balance.. i see bad reviews now, and i can understand why..they are supposed to be local bank and treat you better than big banks but what a disappointment, if considering this bank as new customer because is close? dont bother.. i was going to give 3 stars, fair but i am so pissed that downgraded to 2 and considering taking my business elsewhere and recommending others too

Terrible customer service. We have been doing business with this bank for years now. We currently have a business loan with them. We received an email asking for copies of our tax returns, yet at the bottom of the email it specifically states that they would not ask for personal info…. See snapshot from the email I received: Disclaimer: Hope Bancorp, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Bank of Hope never asks for your account or personal information via email. When emailing us, please do not include any non-public information such as account numbers or Tax Identification Number. I called the phone number on the bottom of the email and I left a voicemail asking for someone to call me back so I could personally speak to them, as I had some questions. They responded via email. When I said I didn’t want to email back and forth, that I wanted to talk with someone on the phone (not by email) they again responded via email! This is very suspicious to me! Why wouldn’t the “Relationship Manager” accommodate my request for a call back????

You cannot imagine how rude the costumer service up there、 and how bad the service. The ATM ate my card、they couldn't send me a new one、they shutdown my online banking 、they charge me ($60, $60、$30 and $30 NSF fee) in less than a week. When I went to western branch they told me if you call Vermont branch they'll help you with that、 when I called、 she said all banks do the same with an attitude and she couldn't understand anything of what I'm saying I'm so disappointed
