I have to say, for the price you pay, the standard should be much higher. Let’s start with the positives: beautiful location, amazing staff, particularly the staff working in the elevators and the doorman and the restaurant staff. Everyone else seemed to forget they are working in hospitality for some reason. The rooms are okay but my main issue was that the AC was note working. In a luxury hotel, you can’t find working AC? Isn’t that absurd? It was 75 degrees in our room and the vent was releasing room temp air. Additionally, the food is disgusting. No wonder the restaurant is empty multiple times. You’re better off going to all the nice restaurants near by which will be cheaper and more appealing. Please do better and renovate if you need to. Rooms should have working AC’s
I had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel. Yesterday (03/05/26) around 7 AM, I arrived to provide makeup and hair services for a client who was staying at the hotel. When I came to the elevator area, I approached the staff member standing there and explained that I was a makeup artist coming to a specific room number, and I also gave him my name. He asked me to repeat the information, which I did. He then called the room, but no one answered. I double-checked the room number and told him again. At that point, he became visibly irritated and said that if I wanted to go to a specific room, I should provide the correct number. I was very surprised because I had already told him the room number twice, and he had asked me to repeat it himself. He continued to argue with me, and I asked if I could speak with someone else. He told me to go to the reception desk. When I went there, the staff were very kind, professional, and helpful. The woman working near the elevators was also very friendly. However, the first staff member who spoke to me so rudely did not apologize, even when I passed by him later. This experience was very upsetting, and I even had tears in my eyes. I believe that a five-star hotel should treat both guests and their visitors with professionalism and respect. This was the first time in my life that I experienced such an attitude at a hotel.
We were fortunate enough to spend time at the Pierre Hotel located on 61st Street in NYC while attending a Gala over the weekend. We loved the Premier Pierre Suite featuring a King Bed and stunning views of Manhattan. The hotel and its rooms exude a lovely old-world charm that is truly beautiful. The amenities include a doorman, a restaurant, and the MarieBelle Chocolate Store and more. The elevators also possess charm, complete with elevator operators. A wonderful place to stay.
The Pierre has the kindest and most considerate staff of any hotel in New York City The charm and warmth of their elevator operators might be the best part (last ones in the city!) but it’s a unique and beautifully kept up relic of old New York that I hope stays this way forever. Thank you for making our stay wonderful!
Nice staff and the rooms - and beds - are very comfortable. Noisy hotel however, mostly because of the large outdoor machinery / common heating and AC equipment (loud hum). In-room AC units very loud also. Rating reflects this. Avoid staying here if a light sleeper like me; otherwise a great hotel.
