This hotel was a perfect stay for us. The service is the best. The attentive hotel staff clearly knows how to make a luxury hotel also warmw and inviting. The decor, furnishings, cleanlines, and amenities are impeccable. The location is perfectly situated just beyond the bustle of Times Square and all the Midtown attractions, but such a quick easy walk to every Midtown attraction you can imagine. It feels like you turn the corner on West 44th and you soon slip into a quiet and inviting neighborhood. Our stay here was the key component of a terrific stay and I would readily recommend it to anyone.
I recently stayed at The Iroquois New York and had a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. Location: The location is unbeatable. Nestled on a quiet, tree-lined street, the hotel offers the rare combination of tranquility and convenience. You're just steps away from Bryant Park, Times Square, and Grand Central Terminal, yet the peaceful surroundings make it easy to forget you're in the heart of Midtown. I felt completely safe walking around the neighborhood at any hour. Service: The staff truly set this hotel apart. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone was warm, professional, and genuinely eager to help. I felt welcomed from the moment I arrived, and that hospitality continued throughout my stay. Overall Impression: The Iroquois is a boutique hotel with real charm and character; exactly what you want if you're seeking a sophisticated Midtown experience without the chaos of Times Square right outside your window. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting New York.
We stayed at the Iroquois Hotel in one of the PH Suites shortly before Christmas. The reservation was under my husband’s name. Shortly after booking, he realized there was a Christmas package available that included festive touches such as a small tree. He called to see if the package could be added or the reservation adjusted for an additional cost, but was told by a staff member (a woman whose name began with a “T”) that nothing could be done. This was disappointing, especially since less than 24 hours later we were offered paid options for early check-in or late check-out. Given the cost of the stay—$3,200 USD for two nights—we had hoped for a bit more flexibility or effort to accommodate what felt like a small request the hotel already offers. Our arrival experience was a highlight. Anthony greeted us at check-in and was extremely welcoming, offering chocolate and bottled water for our younger children. The other male front desk staff were also friendly and professional. Ben, who works in the breakfast area, truly stood out as the most valuable employee during our stay. He greeted guests with genuine warmth and was incredibly helpful with sightseeing recommendations. He was kind, knowledgeable, and engaging, and our children especially enjoyed chatting with him about all the places they were excited to visit. The hotel lobby has a great vibe and smells wonderful. The room itself had a quintessential New York feel and was generally clean, though some small details were missed. We travel to Maine often and typically stay at The Lincoln Hotel, a Michelin Key property, where thoughtful touches—such as Santal 33 bath products and a signature room spray available for purchase as well as a cafe in the lobby—create a sense of understated luxury. Those kinds of small but memorable details are what we would expect at a hotel like the Iroquois. The towels, while clean, were noticeably dingy, which was surprising given the hotel’s positioning and price point. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Midtown and within walking distance of major attractions such as Rockefeller Center and Times Square, making it very convenient to get around. Overall, while the staff and location were strong positives, the experience fell short of expectations for the price. I would rate the hotel a 6/10.
I have edited my review to reflect management reaching out and being intentional about rectifying this issue as best they could! I appreciate their timely response and resolution! I had the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had last night-and I made a point to sleep on it before taking the time to write this. I made a prepaid reservation through Hotwire for a one-night stay and arrived ready to check in. Our bags were already taken to the room, and I had handed over my ID when the front desk agent, Anthony, asked for a card for incidentals. I gave him my debit card, but he told me they don’t accept debit cards for holds. I didn’t have my physical credit card on me, but I did have it in my Apple Wallet. Since their payment terminal clearly supported tap-to-pay, I asked if I could use it. Anthony said no, insisting that I needed to physically present the card. As a former Director of Operations for a luxury hotel brand, I know that there are multiple ways to authorize a hold for incidentals. I was shocked that he would deny check-in for a fully prepaid reservation over something so trivial. When I asked how to get my refund, he told me I’d need to contact Hotwire directly. That was frustrating but fine-until Hotwire’s manager called twice asking Anthony to release the refund, and he refused both times. To make matters worse, another staff member told him directly that he could have used my debit card or Apple Pay for the hold. His response? He told her she could “be responsible for it” and check me in herself if she wanted to-but he still refused. I would love to believe this wasn’t racially motivated, but his tone and actions made me feel otherwise. I’ve never been treated so poorly in any setting-especially not in a space that calls itself “luxury hospitality.” I’ve filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will also be reaching out to hotel ownership directly. I hope they take this seriously so no other guest has to experience what I did.
We took a quick family trip to NYC to see a Broadway show and spend the day exploring, and The Iroquois Hotel turned out to be absolutely perfect for us. From the moment we walked in, the beautiful 60s deco-style lobby made us feel welcome. A big bowl of fresh oranges and chilled bottled water were always available at the front desk, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. They offered excellent tips and recommendations for exploring Manhattan. The entire hotel, including our rooms, was spotless. Our rooms were peaceful and quiet, with incredibly comfortable beds and pillows. The heated bathroom floors and plush bathrobes were a luxurious touch we all appreciated. The location is ideal—close enough to walk to Broadway shows, Central Park, Times Square, the subway, and Fifth Avenue shopping, yet just far enough from the busiest streets to feel calm and safe. We couldn’t recommend The Iroquois more highly and would absolutely stay here again!
