If we could give a lower score…we would. Our disgusting experience involves our attempt to use reward points to book a flight. The company essentially is holding points that have already been transferred in order to book a specific flight HOSTAGE on a “10 day security hold” which negates the possibility of booking the desired flight. Repeated dialog with “customer service” has resulted in not only rude responses, but unreasonable lack of solutions. They won’t return the points, they won’t transfer the points. Hard earned “REWARD” points are completely wasted. Thanks for NOTHING, BA. Avoid flying British Air if at all possible! As Global full time travelers…we’ve never experienced this level of poor service from an airline.
I’ve flown with British Airways several times between LAX and London Heathrow (LHR), experiencing multiple cabin classes, and each offers a noticeably different experience. Starting with World Traveller (economy class), it’s a no-frills, straightforward option. The service from the crew is consistently friendly, and meals are included, which is appreciated. However, the seats are quite cramped and not particularly comfortable, especially on a long-haul flight. It’s clear that this is the budget option—you feel the savings in the reduced comfort and amenities. If you’re able to spend a bit more, I highly recommend upgrading to World Traveller Plus (premium economy). It offers more legroom, better seat comfort, and a generally more pleasant travel experience without the high price tag of business class. In March, I had the opportunity to fly in Club World (business class), and the upgrade was well worth it. The lounge access and priority boarding are great perks that make the pre-flight experience much smoother. Onboard, the lie-flat pods are a game changer, especially for long-haul overnight flights. Having meal choices adds a personal touch, and as always, the British Airways cabin crew are attentive and professional. One downside I’ve noticed across all cabins is the cabin temperature. The heat tends to be turned up too high, which can make sleeping uncomfortable. It’s puzzling—blankets are provided, yet the cabin feels overly warm. It would make more sense to keep the temperature moderate, allowing passengers to layer up if needed rather than feeling overheated. Overall, British Airways delivers a reliable service with excellent staff. Just be mindful of the cabin class you choose—it can significantly affect your comfort level, especially on longer flights
British Airways demonstrated gross negligence, misrepresentation, and inconsistent treatment of passengers on the same journey. Under booking reference ZBNO6C, my husband and I experienced a delayed baggage issue that forced us to incur significant out-of-pocket expenses for essentials. Shockingly, while another passenger traveling with us on the same flight received compensation promptly, British Airways subjected our claim to repeated delays and excessive documentation demands, applying arbitrary and inconsistent standards. The situation was far worse for my sister and her infant traveling under booking reference YDU687. Over multiple interactions across four days prior to travel, British Airways repeatedly assured her that an infant bassinet seat would be provided. Relying on these assurances, she proceeded with the journey. At the airport, British Airways failed to provide the bassinet and then falsely promised a full row, which was also not delivered. As a result, my sister was forced to hold her infant for the entire long-haul flight. The baby remained distressed throughout the journey. Traveling alone with four bags, she received no meaningful assistance, was unable to eat, became severely exhausted, and physically unwell due to lack of rest and food. These failures go beyond inconvenience. They reflect systemic negligence, misrepresentation of services, and a complete disregard for passenger welfare—especially when infants are involved. Based on this experience, I strongly caution travelers, particularly families with children, against relying on British Airways’ assurances or customer support. @british_airways
I paid business class fair for 3 tickets from LAX to DEL. On return flight from DEL, we were told to accept premium economy because they had oversold. When we refused, they pretended as if they were trying to find alternative flights for us. Obviously, they couldn’t find any. We found Air India flight on our own. Only when I was about to pay for this alternate flight and BA reps were watching me, they agreed to book it for us. Then, they told us to go quietly because others in same situation may ask for alternative flights as well. What a crooked way of doing business!
The Good: Some routes have club suites with a suite door. Good frequency of flights. The Bad: 1. Cramped space in business compared to the likes of qatar even in club suites 2. U can get stuck with a lot of old planes flying 2-3-2 layout for business with 0 privacy everyone will see u chew n stretch type cramped aisle seats. 3. Mediocre lounges. BA lounge in Boston had no food or staff to talk to at 9 PM. LAX lounge is slightly better and heathrow is crowded. 4. No dine-on-demand. This is a perk expect in business class but wasn’t available in London -Bangalore 5. Staff attitude resembles that of low cost airline. 6. Upkeep of planes. Faded and stained seats, TV touchscreen was unresponsive and movie kept getting stuck and the staff simply shrug and move on. Net. Fly british airways if u have to. Avoid if u can.
