This crazy person was yelling in the restaurant as we started getting our food and valet had to call the cops but the food was worth the crazy experience. Good portions and so comforting at a great price point. Stir fry pork leans sour from the kimchi; tteokbokki “less spicy” was still solidly spicy but the chew was amazing. Oxtail didn’t taste too beefy but was still very flavorful. They only let us get three rounds of banchan before they said we weren’t allowed to get anymore????? Like is that not the best part of Korean food?? Chef Kang also has some other spots around Ktown and apparently he started as a mortgage broker / home cook according to LAT. It was empty at 6 and we were kind of concerned about it (because what popular restaurant is empty at dinner hour on Saturday!) but people started streaming in at around 6:30!
Firstly! I have to say that I am a person who love Korean food lover, I have a very good experience and familiar with Korean Food. This Dasom LA was chosen for a group of 4 people ,me and 3 of my friends. Go to the short, We order a lot but "Beef ribs soup with cabbage which is spicy and they had a poster for that items, I took picture and told her at least 3 times and red color obviously. But I got totally wrong, server Korean lady kept saying, it is the same so we just said ok. "See in picture" And, I ordered again "Braised Short Rib" same as their poster which is $36 and Korean Lady server took very wrong order which is with even soup so we told that lady and another server that we did not order that one and we showed them the picture which is totally different. " we aware of that we can't get the same as picture "but they can't be lie to customer with soup based ribs and grilled ribs tho. The most problems is that she charges me $54 for " Braised Shot Ribs" instead of $36 and she even write "Short Ribs JJIM " I don't know why she lie and stolen customer money. But, I asked hr again before I paid for, that you guys giving us wrong order but I paid for it. But shouldn't steal money like that. And I just discovered when I backed to my place. I will report to police as a fraud.
Daily Happy Hour in K-Town hits different 🍻 From 2–6PM, all soju is just $9 and Paik Lager $7—perfect start before the feast. The table fills up quick with their generous banchan, plus comforting bowls of Wooguji Tang (hearty cabbage beef soup) and Pork Belly Kimchi Stir-Fry that packs the right amount of spice. But the real showstoppers? The melt-in-your-mouth Pork Belly Bossam and the fall-off-the-bone Short Rib Jjim—rich, tender, and easily my favorite bite of the night. ✨
I ordered Galbi-tang to-go, and the rice they packed was completely spoiled. It smelled sour and was clearly rotten. Unfortunately, I had already dumped the rice into the soup before realizing it, so I had to throw away the entire meal (both the soup and the rice). Mistakes happen, but their reaction was absolutely unacceptable. When I called to complain, they were incredibly dismissive and acted like serving rotten food was 'no big deal.' They offered zero apology and simply said, 'We'll give you one extra bowl of rice next time.' Are you kidding me? This is a serious health hazard. If you care about food safety and customer service, DO NOT go here.
We really enjoyed our experience. The staff was so nice, food was delicious and ambiance was great.
